Dog Walking Congestion In Telford. A picture of a Shitzu dog on the luvponies.com website. Telford is surprisingly, the dog owning capital of the UK. If you're wondering what that has to do with horse riding, you can find out here

Most people who like horses also like dogs.

How could you not?

And by like, I mean own at least one canine friend.

A 2022 poll by Animalweb highlighted that,

Out of 2686 responses, 9% owned a horse/s and/or a pony but no dog.

However, 91% who owned a horse/s and/or a pony, also owned a dog.

Of course, you don’t have to own a horse or pony to love dogs.

In a 2024 survey by Statista (I love statistics), approximately 36% of the UK population owned a dog.

Between them, Brits own 13.5 million of these lovable critters.

Telford is officially the UK’s Dog Capital, with an incredible 8. 2 dogs per 20 people.

It must be great to be a dog walker in that town!

During my recent lifetime, we’ve owned a Cocker Spaniel, an English Setter, a Shitzu and currently, a very clever (a bit too clever) Boston Terrier.

That’s in addition to cats, hamsters, rabbits and fish.

Our Shitzu, who thought we were all her servants existing only to do her bidding, once managed to squeeze through a hole (made by a fox) in our garden.

Luckily for her and us, a kind person found her walking in the middle of the road and whisked her from there to the local vet.

Thankfully, we got her back safe and sound (she was microchipped, so the vet called).

But if we’d bothered to attach her tag to her collar, we’d have saved a lot of angst!

And that’s why we sell these Sparkly Paw Pet Tags.

They’re colourful on one side and display owner contact information on the reverse.

I always think of our much loved (and naughty) Lulu when I see them.

If there’s a dog in your house, make the most of the time you have with them, especially the naughty ones!

Best wishes,

Tracy
