For equine sculptor Holly Hickmore, that’s easy, you create a gigantic horse-head sculpture.

We’re talking very large.

The horse’s head shown above is 3.5m tall and is called “Artemis.”

The finished item was unveiled at Royal Ascot last year.

As a child, Holly was a keen rider, hence her love and knowledge of horses.

Later, she decided that her career would be in art and specifically in sculpture.

If you have an artistic child, I thought this article in Hampshire Life may be of interest to you both.

I found it fascinating not least because of the scale of some of Holly’s artworks.

Overall, it’s a very interesting account of Holly’s life and how she goes about her work.

It puts the little clay horse figures I used to make very much in the shade!
