Dexter our Boston Terrier’s favourite game is Frisbee. Luckily for me, he won’t play in the rain.

Dog walking weather can vary considerably from day-to-day.
Yesterday, I was very hot. Today, cold and very wet.
As I write, sheets of rain are falling on a day the BBC weather forecast said would be “Light Showers.”
Dexter, our Boston Terrier, is a stickler for his schedule, and although he’s not much fond of rain, he insists we go out only for him to about-face soon into the walk.
By which time, both of us are soaked.
Years ago, as another cold, wet day replaced a very warm and sunny one, one of my daughters, who was six or seven at the time, asked, “Mummy, will summer come back soon?”
I assured her that it would when it got back from Spain, France, and, as it seemed, every other country in Europe!
Until then, the paddling pool, water pistols and tent remained in the shed.
Looking ahead, it appears that the wet weather this week is a much-needed blip for gardens and farms.
News and weather people are warning of a heatwave summer.
With that in mind and thinking ahead to school holidays and planning days out, this article is worth a read.
It’s about what’s been described as one of the best horse-riding estates in the UK.
And while riding there or anywhere else in hot weather, keep your young rider cool in one of our horsey T-shirts.
Best wishes,
Tracy
